Child Care Success Check List

This check list suggests some things to ask as you make phone calls and things to look for during your interviews with the providers. It will help you remember and compare each visit.

CFCE's are locally based programs serving families with children birth through school age. Funded by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, they may offer:

Western Mass Family Centers

Family Centers are open to parents, guardians, grandparents and their children. They may offer family education, parent skill-building programs, support groups, playgroups, story hours, school readiness programs and a place to share your parenting stories with other parents.

Behavioral Health Network, Inc. is a growing non-profit community behavioral health agency that has been providing services to children and families in Western Mass since 1938.

The Collaborative helps educators to become more effective by working together to reflect and create school-wide solutions to their instructional challenges. We help districts collaborate with each other to put resources where they're needed most: back in the classroom.

CHP has many services for families and community including playgroups, WIC, Health Centers, etc.

Connecting fathers with their kids.

Early Childhood Focus provides parents, early childhood professionals, policy-makers, and advocates with the latest early childhood news from around the country. NACCRRA's online database of newspaper articles related to child care from throughout the country, sortable by state and category (i.e., key topics). Subscribers receive weekly news alerts on hot topics in the early childhood field.

Provide free information, support, resources, and referrals for parents and their children. We can help you find services to enrich your child s development (i.e. speech and language, mental health, motor development, etc) as well as help with the transitions between Early Intervention, Early Childhood programs, the Springfield Public Schools and other children s service agencies. We can also help with referrals for other family needs like housing, health care, fuel assistance and so on.

Operation: Military Kids is the U.S. Army's collaborative effort with America's communities to support children and youth impacted by deployment. Regardless of whether Families are experiencing deployment for the first time, the second time or another in a series of multiple deployments, OMK s goal is to connect military children and youth with local resources in order to achieve a sense of community support and enhance their well-being.
