VACANCY: Spanish GED Instructor/Case Manager: Holyoke, MA 1 full time position
REPORTS TO: Program Director
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree required. Experience working with teens preferred. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required. Bilingual required.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assess student academic levels. Develop and implement individualized curriculum. Monitor progress and address academic barriers. Facilitate individual and group learning projects. Maintain an atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Administer pre-GED tests to prepared students. Arrange GED testing for students who have passed the practice exam. Conduct vocational classes including computer learning to increase word processing, on-line and research skills. Conduct weekly life management, parenting and job readiness workshops for a minimum of 6 hours weekly. Provide individual counseling to promote personal and vocational growth. Referral, monitoring of service delivery and advocacy for students. Maintain student confidentiality. Maintain individual case records including counseling logs. Maintain a working knowledge of all pertinent DTA regulations. Arrange internships for students with area businesses. Work toward positive outcomes for all students as discussed with supervisor that will include: college-bound students, employment-bound students, and training-bound students. Provide weekly follow-up, support services and transitional services to all placed students to ensure successful retention. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other social service providers, DTA teen specialists, supervisors and other program staff. Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of weekly and monthly reporting requirements and all related paperwork. Any and all other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor.
SALARY: $30,000
